Cover Redesign: 'Until September' by Harker Jones

This month, Michelle Argyle at Melissa Williams Design reimagines the cover of Until September by Harker Jones.

Design Note 1: The original cover gives the misleading impression that the book is about a teen romance. To remedy this, I used an image of one young adult boy.
Design Note 2: The story is rather melancholy and quiet. Using more muted colors helps achieve this feeling on the cover.
Design Note 3: Using a serif font instead of a handwritten font gives a more serious tone to the cover.
Design Note 4: I decided to pull a yellow color from the sky for the author’s name. This helps tie in the text elements with the background.
