Having had many jobs and careers -- on-set still photographer, pet photographer, fiction writer, nutritionist and nutrition book author, running a film screening department and a stint working for the feds -- has primed Andrea for this new book of character pieces.
Also, as fruit for the creative juices, Andrea and Brian spent the two covid years traveling around Central and South America, meeting and making friends with humans of all kinds. It’s amazing how much diversity is out there, yet how much we all seek the same fundamentals: truth, kindness, friendships, freedoms, honesty, a fair shake. Travel has been a tremendously enjoyable learning experience, and one that unmasks infinite possibilities. There will be more of that.
Andrea’s work has appeared in Audience Literary Journal, Art&Prose Magazine, The New Short Fiction Series, and Mortar Magazine. This is Andrea’s third book. Her first volume of short fiction, Pacifist Chicken and Other Largely Humorous Stories of small Hopes, was published in 2005. Book awards received: Finalist for the 2007 Indie Excellence Award for Humor, 2007 Bronze Medal IPPY Award for Short Story Collections and Finalist in the Fiction & Literature Short Story category of the National Best Books 2007 Awards. Andrea’s second book, The Skinny on Eating Plants, ⓒ2015, is a primer on all of the benefits of transitioning to a more plant-based diet.
Andrea and Brian live in Portland Oregon, but you’re more likely to find them ‘on the road again’. They hope you do.
