Originally from the west of Ireland, Billy O'Shea was educated in Trinity College Dublin and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. In 2000 he received the University's gold medal for a paper on 'The Concept of Information in Translation'. He has written four novels and many short stories, one of which won the short fiction prize of the Danish Science Fiction Society in 2020. He lives in Copenhagen with his wife and three children.
