A distinctive creative artist in four branches of the arts is Cat Ellington. The American songwriter/composer, casting director, poet, author, voice-over actress, and entrepreneur is notable for her prolific contributions to music movies, art, and literature.

The Chicago native composed her first song, titled "The Baby's Song," in 1981 when she had been just ten years old. And since that time, she has written hundreds of songs that span twenty-four musical genres. Ellington's debut contributions in music include authoring five original songs that appear on the 2020 motion picture soundtrack to the multi-award-winning feature film Dual Mania. Among the track listings are "The Book of Us," "Something in Your Eyes," "I'm Still in Love," "Gett Out"—a heavy metal piece that she co-composed with her husband, filmmaker Joseph Strickland—and "I Do," the winner of the 2019 Vegas Movie Award for Best Song. In 2021, Vital Vision Records released Instrumentals: Music from the Motion Picture Dual Mania, which features the instrumental recordings of these works composed by Cat Ellington and Joseph Strickland, under the production of Princeton Brown and Greg Schutte.

Cat Ellington is also a casting director: as a film industry professional, Ellington made her debut working on the psychological thriller Dual Mania. Ellington was responsible for placing the entire cast and contributing as a production assistant on the feature.

In literature, the distinguished writer is well-known for a prolific bibliography that lists over two dozen titles to date. The works include her famous Reviews by Cat Ellington series; You Can Quote Me On That, More Imaginative Than Ordinary Speech; Memoirs in Gogyohka; Strike a Prose; The Cat Ellington Sheet Music Collection; and The Five-Star Review. Incidentally, Ellington also co-authored The Making of Dual Mania with Joseph Strickland and B.J. Patterson.

Cat Ellington also has other hobbies outside of her professional element. The award-winning artist enjoys reading, listening to music, cooking, collecting vintage and modern charm bracelets, watching movies and classic TV shows, sailing, jet-skiing, playing tennis, and eating frozen yogurt — lots of it.
