A lifelong gardener and master gardener emeritus, Charlotte Ekker Wiggins added honey bees to her Missouri garden in 2010. She discussed “Why Bugs Matter” at an April 2019 TEDx. She has taught beginning beekeeping classes since 2012. In 2014, she established a local non-profit educational bee club to support beekeeping students. She continues to teach classes and lecture on a variety of beekeeping-related topics.
