Deborah believes that the power within us lights the way to realize our purpose and potential.
After leaving her 30-year nursing career in 2006, Deborah and her husband, Steven, left the USA to adventure in Costa Rica. They transformed an old 26-acre dairy farm into a well-loved resort at the base of the Arenal Volcano. One of the resort offerings was horseback riding tours into the surrounding rainforest. This was the beginning of her journey with horses.
Deborah has presented at numerous conferences as a registered nurse and as an equine practitioner. Most recently, she presented in Ireland in 2018 at The Federation of Horses in Education and Therapy International (HETI). She organized the 2019 My Horses My Healers International Summit in Costa Rica.
She co-instructed the Eponaquest apprenticeship program in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and Costa Rica; has led workshops in Denmark, Costa Rica, the USA, and Canada. Other talented practitioners are often invited to co-lead retreats and workshops. Many friends have been made and interwoven into the fabric of Eponicity.
Her books, Pony’s Girl Parables and Aligning – Partnering with Soul. Pony’s Girl Parables is the story of seven real-world challenges that a girl faces during her life. She spends time with her pony contemplating each situation and they travel into the 5th-dimensional world where they meet a guide that teaches them, through experience, the philosophical/ethical considerations related to the dilemma she faces. It’s a metaphorical illustration of my life. Aligning – Partnering with Soul is a collection of poems I’ve written while ‘cocooning’ during the COVID pandemic.
After 14 amazing years in Costa Rica, in 2020, Deborah and Steven moved back to the USA. Eponicity’s offerings have expanded to include online coaching and courses, in-person experiential equine coaching, and private equine supported retreats/workshops for corporate groups, individuals, and families at their new (but ancient – circa 1869) farm: Connected Heart Haven, in Virginia.
