I am an atheist poet and writer with an MA in Computing Science and Management Studies from Glasgow University in 1995, minoring in Economics and Social Policy. A wide variety of my poems, over 750, can be found on PoetrySoup.com, ranging in topic from religion, science and politics to deliberations on computing, sports, disability, history and freedom of speech, most of which offer a moral tincture. Since September 2017 I’ve been doing a Bachelor of Theology with Aberdeen University long distance, and prior to that over June and July I completed two MOOCs. The first was in Philosophy, Science and Religion: Science and Philosophy with Edinburgh University, and the second was Foundations of Assisting in Home Care with the State University of New York.
Three of my poems are published in Filling The Void edited by Jonathan MS Pearce which is a Selection of Humanist and Atheist poems under the pseudonym Dominique Green: A Woman of Today; Disability; and The Universe Came From Nothing, which explains the late Stephen Hawking’s new M-theory along with the beginning of time as “life gave me something for nothing for free”. Ten essays exist on PoetrySoup.com including: Why is Creationism Wrong?; A Refutal of the Existence of God - the Invisible Dark Pink Balloon Theory; My Christmas Story - Mary and Joseph; Sports With James; I've Just Walked Again After 10 Years; and Life With Cerebral Palsy - Reflections On Easter. Academia.edu offers four papers including The Historical Jesus, Buddhism and Murder and Faith Healing.
I enjoy reading, the cinema, music, graphical design, gym and swimming and sometimes create apps including word and number games, word predictions software, communicators for the Mac desktop, other adaptive software and religious software, but, thus far just for my own amusement and divertissement.
