My name is an Italian name, as my paternal grandparents came from southern Italy, but I also claim Irish ancestry from my mother’s side, about whom the book is written. These ancestors have lived on the Island of Newfoundland for many generations.
I was one of two brothers, raised in New York in what I like to jokingly refer to as the town of Leave It To Beaverville, where all the mothers wore pearls and aprons in the kitchen while baking cookies and all the dads took the daily train to work in New York City. I spent my whole life attending Catholic Schools where I went on to earn a bachelor and master’s degree in Business.
I married right out of college and raised two kids. I started my career in banking and ended it as a self-employed owner of a small CPA tax practice. I am still married today to my beautiful wife and muse, Patty. The two of us struggled for 40 years raising a family in Florida before following our sons and grandchildren to retirement in Texas.
I never planned to write a novel, but in 2020 I became a shut-in like the rest of the world when the Covid 19 virus descended upon us. As I stood there staring at the four walls, my son Frank chided me into doing something besides watching TV during this time, and thus I gave birth to my historical fiction.
