Spiraling from a Mennonite base in rural Ohio, Doris has become a wife, mom and grandma, an educator and friend of young children to well-seasoned adults of many nationalities, a pastor, a story-teller, and life-long learner and creator. Though her life has been enriched by people of multiple continents, her favorite place to be is at home, wherever that may be. There she invests in her family and others, enjoys the beauty of nature, reads, writes, and sews. Life is a journey full of delightful surprises and painful disappointments that reward, challenge and teach. Her desire is to share the whispers she has heard in the small spaces of her experience to invite and encourage the reader on her/his journey to meaning and fulfilment.
