Africa, apart from two and a half years travelling the world, has always been Elaine Dodge's home. Born in Zambia, she grew up in Zimbabwe and is currently living in South Africa. After training as a designer, running The Artful Dodges with her brother and working for both a highly respected design company, as well as one of the countries larger advertising agencies as Assistant Creative Director, Elaine Dodge left Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa.
There, she segued into local and international broadcast television working for clients such as National Geographic, Animal Planet and Discovery, winning the odd international award along the way.
In August 2013, her first novel, ‘Harcourt’s Mountain’ was published, the first in the historical romance, family-saga, adventure series, ‘The Harcourts of Canada’. Book 2 in the series, 'Heart of the Mountain' will be released in 2020. Other novels in the pipeline include,'The Device Hunter' and 'The Queen's Executioner'.
Elaine Dodge is also an avid short-story writer and her first anthology, 'L.E.T.H.A.L.' is to be released in 2020 as well.
‘The Man with a House on His Back’, one of her short-stories reached the semi-finals of the international Screencraft Cinematic Short Story competition was also featured in the SA Horrorfest Anthology, ‘Blue Honey and the Valley of Shadow’.
