John E. Budzinski began writing in college trying to impress a girlfriend’s father. Said father was News Editor of the local paper and John wrote three op-ed pieces hoping to impress said father by showing, he may be a jerk, but at least he was a smart jerk, and he could think. His clever ploy did not work, and his girlfriend’s father still thought of him as a clown without his make-up, and a fluorescent bulb in an incandescent world, Nothing Special.
The experience did not dissuade John. He went on to shed light as a writer, penning a column for a weekly paper in New Hampshire whose editor commented, “... his stories are always well received.” His articles and work appeared in the Boston Globe, the Quincy, Massachusetts Patriot Ledger, the Worcester, Massachusetts Telegram & Gazette, Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the Waterbury, Connecticut Republican American among others.
After a career in Supply Chain Management he retired to chase after two bucket-list items; pursue a Ph.D., and write books. The books are a work in progress. Since retiring, John has taken several classes towards his Ph.D. and traveled the USA researching his dissertation topic, “Evolutions of the American Dream compared to Global Dreams.”
John is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and has studied at Temple University, Northeastern University, Florida Institute of Technology, Fairfield University, and the University of Bridgeport. He grew up in the Lordship section of Stratford, Connecticut, and is an ardent traveler and accomplished photographer. John has called a dozen addresses in six states home over the years and lives near Iowa City.
