Hi! I began writing professionally while working in the theatre, penning English language learning plays including 100 Meters. Nowadays I write contemporary and gay-themed fiction, sometimes funny, often about Barcelona and its history, such as my first novel, Celia’s Room. I also write about the city’s art and architecture in the BCN Free Art guides, like BCN Free Art 01: The Port and Barceloneta. Writing as K. Eastkott I created “Seeking the Jewel Fish”, an environmentally focussed ocean fantasy exploring non-Eurocentric worlds. It currently comprises Through the Whirlpool, Twilight Crosser and Lake of Stone.
Also a passionate visual artist, I combine writing with work as a translator, editor and content writer. As a painter, I work in oils and mixed media, exploring homoerotic art. Born in Aotearoa New Zealand, I have lived in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Madrid and London, though since 1988, Barcelona is the city I call home.
