Leilani Norman completed a twenty-year arc of support to her parents when her mother died in late 2021. She holds a certificate in Gerontology from the University of Washington and a BA in Psychology. Leilani is an artist, award-winning designer, entrepreneur, and the parent of two young adults. She lives in Bellingham, Washington where she makes art, writes, and volunteers with Dementia Support Northwest.
Leilani is the creator of Caring is Art, an illustrated gift book for caregivers. Her interest in caregiver self-advocacy through nutrition and wellness are the subjects of two academic papers she wrote, Connecting the Dots: Nutrition and Cognitive Health (2020), and Optimal Caregiving: Fostering Cooperation Between Direct Care Workers and Residents’ Family Members (2021).
