Linda worked as a registered nurse for over a decade and taught skydiving on the weekends, while raising three children. She began freelance writing for magazines while still in college, and was scriptwriter and director of marketing for a small video production company in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Linda’s manuscript won the former Maui Writers’ Conference in 1996, the year Ron Howard was keynote speaker. She has received awards from Foreword Reviews, Honolulu Magazine, Southwest Writers Workshop, and the National Student Nurses Association. The New York Public Library chose her first novel, Star-Crossed to be among the Books for the Teen Age – 2007.
Sailing experiences, including three weeks as a voyage crew member aboard the H.M. Bark Endeavour, led to her first published novel, Star-Crossed (Knopf;2006), a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age – 2007, and inspired the Patricia MacPherson nautical historical adventures (Fireship Press). Looking for Redfeather, a coming-of-age novel about three runaway teens on the road in the 21st century was a finalist in Foreword Review’s Inide Book of the Year 2013, and a 2015 Spring Spotlight recipient from Literary Fiction Book Review.
