Mary Beth Lacy, born in Princeton, NJ, discovered her love for storytelling early on. From her figure skating days in New Jersey to captaining the boys’ golf team in Georgia, her journey led her to a fulfilling career in golf PR.
A Furman University English major and avid golfer, she worked with PGA Tour events in California, including the Bob Hope Classic and The Skins Game Golf Tournament, before founding Mary Beth Lacy, Incorporated in 1998. For over 30 years, she represented major brands and golf personalities globally.
In 2023, after a career of press conferences and countless articles, Mary Beth retired. Married to Christopher Lacy with two children, she now splits her time between Palm Desert, California, and St. Simons Island, Georgia, savoring the beauty of both locations.
Her passion for writing, nurtured by her upbringing, led her to publish her first children’s book, “Octopi Are Very Sly.” The tale encourages resilience, dreaming big, and cherishing love and friendship.
Family holds a special place in her heart, especially her Irish Catholic roots. Her fond memories include reading with her father and sharing stories with her own children. She has been inspired by so many authors, both adults and children, that it would be hard to list them all. As Pooh, would say, “Oh bother! Think, Think, Think.”
