M.J. Stevens, is the brilliant mind behind the YA Urban Fantasy novel "A Clockwork Flower: Aries Adventure.” The author was compelled to write the novel after his learning experiences with Spokane Fatherhood Initiative. Choosing to “model” chasing your dreams to his 5-year-old son. This can be seen on the dedication page where it reads: “For my son may this story spark your imagination and, for my dad may it re-ignite yours. To my wife thank you for encouraging me to chase my dreams, I couldn’t have done this without you.” M.J. spent his adolescence in the interior of Alaska running wild. From fishing with family, adventures with friends, and wild crafting and gathering with his mom. When it came to his young adult years, he spent most of his time homeless and traveling where he met many challenges and found some of the best of friends. His life wasn't an easy one, but it taught him much. During the writing process Stevens was going through trauma therapy as a creative outlet. The main protagonist mirrors this by gaining self-worth through introspection, observation, and with the help of his friends. This resulted in giving his characters not only some real adventurous flair but emotional growth. While he himself has always had a flair for adventure and creativity. He is a culinarian, a painter, a writer and loves traveling during the summer with his wife and son. When he isn't busy writing his book or exploring his love of the culinary world, M.J. is a dedicated and loving husband and father of one. Stevens Hopes of turning "A Clockwork Flower'' into a Series, while teaching his son to chase his dreams. He is currently working on two pieces of writing and hopes to release them in the coming year. Bringing back some of his most beloved characters and introducing some exciting new faces. While homeless M.J. spent his young adult years in poetry clubs along with performing poetry readings on an open microphone. M.J. Believes that the truest form of emotional expression comes through writing.
