In late 1999, I learned that my son, David, had become addicted to heroin. For the next fifteen years, David rotated in and out of active addiction, recovery, and relapse. In 2013, David developed a staph infection in his spine caused by his IV drug use. After two major surgeries to repair his spine, David overdosed. Wanting to help other parents living the nightmare of their child's drug addiction, I began writing The Last Stop, published in October 2021. I live in Virginia with my husband and little terrier, Benji. In August 2021, I was blessed with a beautiful grandson.
