My name is Raluca, for a minute Marchis, but generally Barbu. I was born and bred in Pitesti, Romania. I studied and became a perfectly functioning and responsible adult in Cluj-Napoca. After having uprooted my whole life, I am presently living a second life in the United States of America.

I have been writing since my teen years when my hottest dream was to publish a book. Just one. I still write, twenty-five years and five published books later. I believe won’t stop soon – that’s as much as I learned about myself.

Writing is my way of showing my appreciation for life. It is how I say thank you, and how I let the universe know that I notice how surprisingly generous it has been with me. My prose is the map to my universe as I discover it every day, one experience at a time.

I wrote and published every time life taught me something major and each book is an expression of human development to which anyone can relate.

My latest book, American Vacation. 12,000 Miles Into the Wild West is also my first book in English. Whatever I will write next will be a surprise even for me but one I will surrender to until the last page.
