A Mexican politician and lawyer with a PhD in Law from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon in Mexico and a Master's Degree in Law from Harvard University, Ricardo Sheffield is a Mexican national, born in Los Angeles, California, and educated in both countries. With a Mexican mother and an American father, he has been bilingual and bicultural since his early childhood. He has served in Mexico as a federal congressman on two occasions, local congressman in the State of Guanajuato, Mayor of the city of Leon, Federal Undersecretary of Land, and Federal Attorney General for Consumer Protection. During his youth he was a television and radio host and commentator, theater actor, magician, and scriptwriter, among other cultural and artistic activities that led him to develop his talent for writing. He is a restless traveler and cultural seeker who in the last 40 years has been to all corners of Mexico and the United States, trips that have augmented what he himself describes as his "vice for reading history books about both countries. His first book “Del desamor al amor,” was published in 2021 only in Spanish, and was one of the best-selling books in Mexico that year.
