Robb Wagner is a creative visionary, thought leader and author who has spent his career transforming entertainment experiences for a clientele of such globally recognized brands as Disney, Viacom, Carnival Cruise Line and YouTube. At the core of his success is a radical approach to work, keen ability to stay ahead of the trends and fierce commitment to helping others live their best creative work-lives.
As CEO of Stimulated-Inc. – the creative studio he founded in 2005 – Wagner operates at the leading edge of content production, spearheading high-level creative solutions that he translates across industries. From television and film to streamed video, concerts and other live performances, he has been able to borrow principles from one sector and apply them to the next, tapping an often-counterintuitive approach and core mindset shifts as part of the process.
Wagner, for example, prefers to start projects with the outcome, reverse-engineering the work to accomplish his goals. He also took Stimulated-Inc. hybrid years before going hybrid was cool. Developing his own methodology and workflow solutions in 2012, Wagner future-proofed his company while giving his team a seamless way to scale digital asset creation for seven-figure projects.
As a result, his creative breakthroughs have raised the bar on big and small screens, with each successful brand experience benefitting from the last and adding insight to a list of hybrid creative best practices he has gleaned over 10 years. A few such large-scale examples include developing content for 50 video screens at the MTV Video Music Awards, producing larger-than-life 3D visuals for Michael Jackson’s This Is It concert tour and film, and creating digital content in front of a live audience at the first-ever YouTube Music Awards, alongside Spike Jonze.
Today, Wagner recognizes that the benefits of his approach extend well beyond his own studio and the entertainment conglomerates he has served thus far. He is now seizing on the next logical application of his hybrid creative methodology and, hence, the next extension of his journey as a disruptor. Wagner’s new playbook, “The Stimulated Method,” takes his step-by-step approach to the in-house creative, marketing, brand and communications teams at global companies, teaching them how to use his methodology for their own large-scale projects.
Wagner, a member of the Directors Guild of America, lives in the surfside town of Manhattan Beach, California. When he’s not thinking about the future or leading Stimulated-Inc., he turns his focus to two passion projects. Wagner’s Refill90 helps cities and events curb plastic consumption and reduce plastic pollution, while Give Not Gift helps charities and causes increase awareness and donations.
