Rosemary A. Schmidt attended the University of Dayton where she had the chance to write a weekly column for the student newspaper. She went on to get her Master’s degree from the University of Illinois, where she was introduced to rugby. Rose’s first book, Go Forward, Support! The Rugby of Life, was published in 2003, and presents a philosophy of life based on rugby, and her years of playing for the University of Illinois and Beantown Women’s Rugby Club in Boston. Her second book, The Happy Clam, was released in July 2020. Rose also hosts a blog on her website www.gainline.com, with topics spanning current events, culture, art, science, politics, and STEM. The playlist to accompany The Happy Clam is in the July 2020 post. Rose originally hails from a small suburb outside Chicago, and now resides in the Boston area with her spouse, Susan.
