My name is Scarlet Gomez, and I am a poet and writer based in the Bronx, New York. I’ve had several short stories and poems published in literary journals such as Persephone’s Daughters, Promethean Magazine, Crabs Fat Magazine, Philadelphia Stories, The A3 Review, Deadass Tho.NYC, and Writer’s HQ. I also received the Esther Unger Poetry Prize from the City College of New York in 2016 and was recently accepted into the Master’s program at the Silberman School of Social Work located in Harlem. Currently, I am the Executive Assistant for the COO and CMO of Callen-Lorde, the largest network in the country to provide comprehensive and specialized healthcare to the LGBTQ community.
