This is a book of stories from people I’ve met on the trail of life.
An African proverb says that
“When an old man dies, a library burns.”
This book is about remembering and honoring stories from people’s lives I have been fortunate to know, if only for a flash of time.
It’s also about trust in yourself and others.
In La Petit Prince Antoine de Saint-Exupery wonders aloud about how adults have lost the ability to see what’s really important.
For all the people who told me stories and pointed out how different results can be achieved when they were listened to, this book is theirs.
To put together this unique collection of stories, I asked for contributions from my friends, associates, teachers, students, administrators, military officers, directors, and employees of NGOs, police, nurses, doctors, and most importantly, kids from three to ninety.
