Good book for children to learn about different countries and days of the week. The book is a decent size for little hands. Bright pictures too.
This book will teach your kids about different food, different continents and also about their history in some way. I loved how, the book in the end had activities for kids and I read it with my little brother, it was an amazing experience reading it. The dishes for each continents were very apt, especially "Chicken Korma with Naan" for Asia!
I will highly recommend it, it's a book that will indulge knowledge and curiosity at the same time. Go for it.
A Journey of Tastes by Hasina Knox is a children's books about world cultures and food traditions to celebrate diversity! There are so many reasons we want to teach our children about food from around the globe. Cooking and eating is something we all, as humans, have in common, and it's something kids easily relate to. Reading about recipes and food traditions from other cultures is a great way to teach children to embrace and celebrate differences across race, ethnicity, gender, and appearance. Reading A Journey of Tastes will help kids appreciate their own family's food culture and special recipes. After reading, talk about your own family's background and what recipes you make at home that represent your heritage.
It will raise more adventurous eaters. Although a child isn't having direct contact with food through reading, talking and learning about it more detail is exposure to new foods. After reading, these foods aren't as scary and unknown and therefore kids are more likely to try them in the future. It will encourage curiosity about the world and people of different cultural background living around us. You have to know what's out there to want to learn more about it. Plus, it is great to recognize the diverse eating styles, religions, or ethnicities of the people living in our own country and communities.
Reading A Journey of Tastes can create an opportunity to talk about judgement that has been placed on our kids for what they eat or how we might judge others.
This book has successfully attempted to make children learn about the weeks, the continents and the cuisines in an exciting way. The various food eaten in different countries have been shown in the form of a "Journey to tastes" throughout the world various activities have been incorporated at the end which will surely enhance the interest and excitement while reading the book. i loved it.

I purchased the book to support my friend. But I was also excited to read it. My 11 year old son said it best, it is not a big book, but it is big enough for younger kids to read, it keeps the attention and most important, you can learn about the foods from different regions.
Highly recommended for the age group.
