Sometimes even the best laid plans don’t work out. When the wants of powerful men clash with the ideals of a perfectionist, the results can be catastrophic to the latter. Such was the case of ambitious astrophysicist, Darwin Bloom, who experienced his own snag in an otherwise idyllic life. When Bloom learned that his life’s work would be misappropriated by a criminal enterprise that secretly controlled his company, he plotted to abscond with his intellectual property and resume his efforts elsewhere. However, before he and his family could relocate, Dr. Bloom was apprehended by a pair of mafia enforcers. They took him to an abandoned shack and tortured him in order to learn the whereabouts of a teleportation device. As he lays near death, Darwin was overwhelmed with guilt upon learning that his family had already paid the ultimate price for his indiscretions. As he was about to join them, Darwin narrowly escaped by opening a cosmic wormhole, transporting him somewhere into deep space. In his delirium, he converses with an unknown entity on a forsaken shore. In his final moment, Dr. Bloom whispers “revenge.” A decade later, Darwin Bloom is reborn as a dark entity. All traces of his humanity have been eradicated from his being. He now has one maniacal aspiration left; ending all life on Earth. He is now simply known as Kill Switch, a god-like figure plaguing the planet. In a single night, he destroyed the city of Las Vegas. During that fateful night, Rebekah Winters’ life was ripped to shreds. She learned first-hand of the devastation that the demon could inflict on humanity, as he briefly possessed her. While under his control, she committed unspeakable acts of evil. Mentally broken by the experience, she slowly finds purpose again when an old colleague asks her to join the Unified World Federation, or U3F, whose sole purpose is designed to destroy the menace. One of the U3F’s most promising projects was the creation of chimeron. These genetically enhanced humanoids have DNA from the deadliest apex predators. They have the speed, strength, and in some cases, psionic ability to fight Kill Switch head on. Early on, a moral line is drawn: Should they allow these Petrie dish saviors to develop their own kind of humanity or deprive them of this gift altogether. The U3F top brass finally allowed Rebekah to shape the chimerons’ personalities to be more than vicious, blood thirsty animals. But with time quickly running out for the human race, will this decision sufficiently backfire when they fight a merciless enemy?
