This is a book I want to gush over. Having been a Conan fan from way back, I have wanted a way to share my love of swashbuckling man-vs-monster sword-and-sandal adventures in a story-telling game, not only with mates but with the kids aswell. CROM lets me do this, and is clever enough to allow for the other more out-there elements of the genre ('80s TV cartoons, I'm looking at you) with a great section on wizard-made cyborgs. As a piece of the FASERIP multiverse (well that's how we're playing it at my local gaming store and with the family), CROM is an excellent addition. It can aslo run on its own with an incredibly simple and fast set up. It does need the main rules, referring back to them, so it is supplement rather than its own game. As both my seven-year old son and my long-term (20+ years) GM adored CROM, it gets this high praise from me.

Crom: Rivers of Blood Await You is created by Jonathan Nolan, Jun Primero, and Ivan Rehzi. The authors have taken the game of Crom to the next level. They have written a manual that every serious video and computer gamer will eagerly have want their side when they are playing this game. This was not an easy book to review as it is hard not to give away too much of what can be found in the manual. Suffice it to say that serious gamers will find that the ease of reference will help them make the correct choices for their characters and what they do and how they progress throughout the game. I like computer games more than video games but am nowhere near as serious as these authors are about the game that they have created. The graphics will make it an exceptional game and any serious gamer will want to have this in their arsenal.
Crom by Jonathan Nolan, Jun Primero, and Ivan Rehzi is very well worth having next to you when you embark on the adventure of a lifetime with Crom, the love of his life Queen Tanit of Ophir, and his sister Lalla. These are the main characters that you come across as well as a host of minor characters, both good and bad, that lead the gamer through the many twists and turns as they master the game, build their empires, and defeat the most amazing mystical creatures. This is a book/manual that I recommend to any serious video/computer gamer as well as a guide for beginners. I would just love to walk through the actual game to see all the graphics which I think would be astounding from what I glimpsed in my reading.

It was penned by author Jonathan Nolan with contributions from Jun Primero and Ivan Rehzi. The work contains everything needed to play a unique new game derived from the FASERIP style of RPG tabletop gaming and includes all the core sourcebook material for a classic sci-fi fantasy action game. From a bestiary of monsters to NPC flavor and generators for every hex in every city, this core book brings Crom to life for everyone to join in.
Author Jonathan Nolan has a fantastically inventive mind and a logical, accessible format for creating RPG source content, and these two talents combine beautifully for this interactive tome. As a fan of many different RPG systems but a player who is relatively new to FASERIP, I found the system really intuitive and easy to get to grips with, especially with the way Nolan explains it and contextualizes how each attribute works against the charts provided. I’m a huge fan of maps, and the initial dungeon and city layouts were a big boost in being able to pluck this book off the shelf and begin an adventure at any point without too much elaborate setup, which I can also see being a huge boon for GMs everywhere. Overall, Crom: Rivers Of Blood Await You is an exciting new sourcebook for instant classic adventure at a moment’s notice.
