J. Mercer has been incredibly clever with this book, writing a description which gives you enough information to reel you in without actually telling you anything! I went in knowing it was a romantic suspense and I really wanted to read it!
Faryn moves to a small town, it’s clear she’s running from something but we have no idea what, she’s a beautiful kind hearted woman who everyone loves instantly. She finds an apartment, and a job and settles into a comfortable but simple life. Then she meets Kai and it’s as if they are made for each other.
Kai has been a troublemaker and playboy his entire life, but as soon as he meets Faryn he makes an effort to change, to become the kind of man deserving of a woman like her, and she loves him for it and for the man he is. All is perfect in the land of Faryn and Kai, except strange things keep happening, notes being left inside her apartment, things being moved around. It appears Faryn is being stalked, but by whom?
I was completely absorbed by this story, the romance was compelling and knowing something sinister was going on was absolutely devastating because I really didn’t want anything bad to happen to this couple who loved each other so thoroughly. J. Mercer touches on subjects in this book which are so close to my heart and the way they are tackled are just so perfect, real, and moving. I was in tears at the end completely entrenched in the outcome for these two lovers.
This is an outstanding novel and one I can’t recommend highly enough. A beautifully thought out and executed romantic suspense that has an outcome you just couldn’t predict.
J. Mercer captivated me with this romantic thriller that had me reading from page one until the very end without ever putting the novel down. I sped through this book very quickly because I was so hooked on the characters and the plot.
I really liked both Faryn and Kai, and I loved seeing how their relationship blossomed throughout the story. One thing that I liked about this novel was that it started as a romance, and progressed into the thriller; when normally the romance and suspense typically occur simultaneously. I felt like that gave me a different perspective on their relationship.
I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of romantic thrillers, because I think this book will hook you from page one.
Wow, what an intense story. I really liked it and was so surprised at the turn of events throughout the book.
The characters were all very well-developed. I got a good feel for each of them. My emotions were all over the place as I read this story. I must say my heart broke for Kai and for Faryn. The story really touched me.
The setting was well portrayed and it was easy to picture myself in a small place where everyone know everything about everyone else.
I would highly recommend this story to other readers.

I can’t wait to read this book again! I was captivated from the very beginning. This story is romantic, then its thrilling. It has so many twists and turns and layers that I guarantee that when I read it again, I will find something new that I missed before. This story was fantastic to the extreme! I want more, and I wish I could go back in time just so that I can read it all brand new again!! Read this book, and read it multiple times!
