This book gave me a lot of good tips and tricks to try. I have a middle schooler, kindergartener and infant and gleaned some great techniques for each age group.
I really enjoyed this book. As the mother of three adult daughters, I remember going through the difficulties of raising them from babies to adults. I wish I had this book at the time I started, and have seen the learning curve from then to now. I would highly recommend this book no matter what age your children are!
What a novel idea, a common-sense approach to raising independent, respectful, and responsible children. Nothing in this book is new, but rather an old school approach to child-rearing without the spanking. In a nutshell, "If you do this, this happens, and if you do that, then that happens." Unfortunately, in this new age of Liberal thinking where kids are the head of the household, it's doubtful the majority of today's spineless parents are capable of taking the necessary steps to successfully implement any of these strategies. Well-written and worth reading.
Insightful book full of tips for parenting through all ages and stages of your child’s life. Some interesting perspectives.
The book addresses a broad spectrum of ages through practical situations. It is written from experience and provides thoughtful tools for managing parenthood. Because of the ages of my kids, I found the chapter on raising independent and responsible children to be of particular interest.
