This novel takes place just weeks after the events of the first novel, REBORN. Having reached the haven of the Unclaimed Cities alongside Finn and Ceera, Lexil discovers that the location isn’t the utopia it was once described. Food and supply shortages are making the residents restless. Lexil faces accusations of exposing the fragile community to dangerous elements. Before long, she is thrust back into the Wastelands in search of answers for the people she has joined, as well as for herself. Accompanied by Finn and a new ally/ enemy Kaylen, she retraces her initial journey. Along the way, they encounter fresh obstacles and new information about wisps, shades, and the Reborn legacy.
