Elias Hund comes from a long line of Hunds that have been chosen to protect the fauna. It was not handed to them by choice, but rather at birth. He must learn to use his unexplored gifts or watch the plight of one of the Sonoran Desert's truly remarkable creatures. Elias viewed and lived life in a happenstance manner, but his current situation was forcing him to accept his identity in a more mature fashion.
