She pitches in on Jim’s farm, earning her keep while pretending to have damaged memories of who she is. Since his unexpected return to Anglo society, Jim has made a good-faith effort to establish himself in the community as a farmer, but his heart remains with his adoptive family’s nomadic way of life.
