Nassim Odin has hit the mark with this novel. The writing, themes, literary stylistic devices, and science fiction lingo are some of the most applaudable elements in his book. The flowing of the tales, alliances among the characters, and the story's setting are all flawless.
We follow Al-Khidr as he strives to find his place, and lives as he pleases. Al-Khidr is back on planet Lyra but as fate would have it, he is made to re-learn about his beloved Lyra once again, given the changes that occurred when he was away. Al-Khidr is the character you love to follow as he is devoted, affectionate, considerate, and is adored for saving Lyrians from Mutmut disease. Al-Khidr is brutal when necessary and will protect what he considers his at whatever cost. But with every hero, we have a villain, and with Al-Khidr present, Hatathor is the recognized villain. He is after Al-Khidr's blood and seeks vengeance.
Nassim Odin’s writing is emotionally rousing and will have the reader on edge. The suspense in the story made this book hard to put down and I found myself finishing it fairly quick. With great story-telling and likeable characters and a complex plot, this is one story I recommend to everyone. This is a great book for science fiction lovers that enjoy reading about alien planets, drama, violence, and heroic tales.
Nassim Odin, author of fantasy and science fiction, excelled in this book called The Revenge of Hatathor, which is the third installment in The Sphere of Destiny Trilogy. Al-Khidr is back in Lyra, but things have changed since the last time. He cannot find his friends and needs to know what has happened during his absence. Apparently, the Lyrians are facing a terrible epidemic. Moreover, Hatathor is seeking revenge and is hunting him. Could Al-Khidr be able to cope with everything and succeed in the end?
This is a reading that demands complete attention to follow everything that happens in the narration. The world created by Odin is not a simple one and there are many difficult names that we need to follow from beginning to end to understand the story. I bet it wasn’t easy to write such an intense novel. Also, the description of the scenes and of the characters is a plus in the story. The author’s descriptive ability is one of the things I liked the most from this book because it was helpful to make a mental picture of what I was reading.
I also liked the dialogues because they are natural and add a lot to the pace of this compelling story. The plot is both interesting and intriguing; the addition of revenge is always a key element for the reader to be hooked in a story, and this happened to me. I felt captivated from beginning to end. I certainly think this is a great end for this trilogy and, even though many people tend to think that books get a bit boring by the end of the storyline (even more in trilogies or series), this is not the case as I found it to be completely entertaining until the very last page.
I would certainly recommend The Revenge of Hatathor, by Nassim Odin, and the whole trilogy–especially to those who enjoy the fantasy and sci-fi genres.
The third book of the trilogy follows Al-Khidr’s return to Lyra carrying the thing Lyrians have been craving for centuries: the plants that can provide the antidote to the Mutmut disease.
Al-Khidr’s manages to flee Hatathor’s wrath at the very last moment, activating the jump-sphere. Little does he know that Hatathor was not so easy to get away from, as he takes advantage of the jump-sphere to come back to Lyra with Al-Khidr. However, as the jump-sphere is not a technology that can be manipulated too much from the outside, Al-Khidr lands in a part of Lyra which he hasn’t been on his first visit and here it starts his mission: to find his friends and to give them the cure for Mutmut.
We are witnesses of his struggles and his stubborn perseverance while he is trying to fulfill his promise. However, at the same time, we slowly get to see Hatathor’s side of the story and many other sides of the story as we are introduced to a few other characters. All these will make a full story, with several storylines that are nicely woven together towards, what we can only hope is going to be, a happy ending. However, the ending of the book is not the ending of the story, as it’s definitely going to be another book, based on the ends which still need to be tied.
The book is full of action and there is absolutely no point where the action is dragging so it’s a great page-turner!
