In the first book of this series, Julia is finally getting comfortable with her new cleaning job and friends that she never had before, although this new beginning apparently also comes with a previously unknown power. The second book finds her in conflict with the overseeing council, whose members are not only afraid of her potential, but one or more is even actively seeking her demise. It's not bad enough she has to deal with this threat, but there seems to be someone else actively seeking to murder her, even to the point of putting her friends in danger. Can her guardian help keep her safe? Who is trying to prevent her from learning more about her background and power? I really love this series...nonstop action with not one but multiple strong female heroines. There's even a hint of a possible romance. This is a wonderful fantasy series and I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Disclosure: I am voluntarily review this book and all opinions are strictly my own.
