It will inspire people to traverse through the infinite darkness and feel the mystical light till eternity. I only wanted to convey and share “The Deepness” with readers. This is an unique collection of 25 poems by Madhushree Das who has a fresh and new approach in weaving her words into poetry. Taking inspiration from her favourite poet Rumi, her poems revolve around the themes of mystical love, life and everything in between. Honestly, the varied personification of nature that she has employed in her poetry warms my heart in an inexplicable way. It is so bewitching that the feeling can not be expressed in mere words. A true example of her mysticism being :
"I still search for you,
amidst the frozen petals of dahlias,
while you have disappeared
to melt away,
like a snowflake in a cold wave."
Being a Literature student, lines like these have stayed with me long after I've finished reading them. That's something that's oddly engaging about this book. It makes such a massive impact on your mind that you can't help but think about it. I've experienced the same ever since I finished reading this book. Time and again, I open it to go read my favourite lines and go through them again and again. Some of my personal favourite poems from the collection are: Enigma, Heart Peel, Snowflake in a Cold wave, Lily in Dry Terrain and Silence of Stars.
Even the font size of the text is really soothing to the eyes which makes it really easy to read. The poems are not lengthy and say a lot in a few words. The intensity of the words convey so much more that you'll be engaged in passive thinking about the same even after days of reading it.
