His essays have appeared in Electric Literature, Thirty-Two, the London Guardian, London Times, & London Mirror. “The Mask of Deception,” an essay, was a 2016 Editor’s Choice pick at LongReads.
He has worked as a writer and editor of ELA instruction and assessment for over 20 years, with an emphasis on grades 9 through 12, for major NYC educational publishers.
Since 2013, he has taught fiction writing courses and led workshops with Gotham Writers Workshop of New York City. GWW is the nation's leading teaching institution for non-accredited writing courses. He has supported over sixty fiction writers individually with editorial assessments and mentorship.
He holds a Masters of Letters from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. A Minnesota native, he has lived in New York since 2012.
