Nicholas Hedley lives in North Hertfordshire with his wife and daughter. From a young age he immersed himself in all things fantasy, and over the years filled his bookcase with a plethora of epic adventures, multifaceted characters and wonderfully woven worlds that allowed his imagination to blossom.
Studying Media Communications at the University of Lincoln, he found himself excelling in creative modules above all others. From there his obsession for the written word intensified. He wrote many short stories, poetry and even wrote and performed songs to an unsuspecting public. It was clear that he was not destined to become a singer, despite how good he thought he was, but his passion for writing endured.
He has always been fascinated by the poetry of language, of how the patterns of words can evoke such strong emotions. Yet it was not just the power of language that inspired him, but also the power of a great story. He later attended creative writing courses in London where he honed his craft, mastered his voice, and then finally put pen to paper.
After many reworks, his debut novel ‘The Battle for Spire: The Bowmen’s Quest’ was born, telling a story that he himself would like to read. The book is marketed at readers who grew up with fantasy. It is for readers who want to plunge themselves into a world of great heroism and honour, of dark magic and fantastical creatures, and for readers who want to embark upon an epic adventure alongside characters that carry with them the fate of the world.
