Srianthi Perera grew up in Sri Lanka.
After receiving a degree in English literature, she embarked on a lifelong career in newspaper and magazine journalism that took her to the Sultanate of Oman, Canada and the United States. Her work has appeared in the Sunday Observer (Sri Lanka), The Times of Oman, What’s On (Dubai, UAE), Where Vancouver Magazine (Canada), The Arizona Republic and Times Publications (Phoenix).
At The Arizona Republic for 11 years, she worked mostly as a local government reporter covering everything from municipal boards, such as parks and recreation, to non-profits, business and growth, communities and individuals. She also covered the arts and history of the area and contributed international travel stories.
She works as a freelance writer and lives in Arizona with her husband.
